Types and Speed - The Efficient Range System
MachineGunner3 types each have a max speed and a different efficient speed range. What is official about the system and how to use the ranges.
Speed is a Type decision: your max speed and your efficient range both come from your Type. The official description is unusually specific: maximum speed is determined by ‘Type’, and each Type has a different efficient speed range. (Source: Steam store page)
What Is Confirmed?
- Type determines maximum speed.
- Each Type has its own efficient speed range — the band where that Type performs best.
- More speed = faster stage time = more score, but too much speed crashes. (all: official page)
Type names, speed values and range boundaries are in-game data we will not invent.
Why the Efficient Range Beats Top Speed (community analysis of the official system)
- Score lives in the efficient band. A Type outside its range is paying crash risk for diminished returns — the system rewards staying inside the band, not touching the ceiling. (community estimate)
- Match Type to stage. If stages vary in density or hazards, the right Type is the one whose efficient range fits the stage’s rhythm — see our scoring guide.
- Learn one Type deeply first. Ranges differ by Type (official); switching constantly hides which range you actually know.
