Scoring in MachineGunner3 - Speed, Time and Penalties

MachineGunner3 scoring confirmed: more speed means faster stages and more score, and crashes cost penalties. How the score is assembled.

10/28/2026 MG3 Cosmos Wiki Team Last updated: 10/28/2026 2 min read

Score is speed, converted carefully. Officially: more speed means faster stage time and more score, and using the proper type and carrying the proper speed earns more — while crashes subtract. (Source: Steam store page)

What Is Confirmed?

  • Speed → stage time → score. Faster finishes score more.
  • Proper Type and proper speed are named score factors — the efficient range system feeds scoring directly.
  • Crash = penalty score. Speed beyond control is negative expected value. (all: official page)

Kill values, stage bonuses and exact formulas are in-game data we will not invent.

Chasing Score Without Crashing (community estimates)

  • Score per second, not per run. A slightly slower clean run repeats instantly; a crashed run pays a penalty and a retry. Consistency compounds. (community estimate)
  • Aim efficiency is speed. Enemies killed inside your efficient band cost nothing extra; chasing kills outside it costs the clock. (community estimate)
  • Bank your Type advantage. If the stage rewards raw pace, take the fast Type; if it rewards control, take the range that fits — see our Types guide.

FAQ

Is there a score multiplier? Not documented. (community note)

Do kills outweigh stage time? Unknown — observe your results screen. (community estimate)
